Cardinal Dollars Information About Cardinal Dollars

Cardinal Dollars are Stanford Dining's prepaid dining plan. They are equivalent to US$1.00. Think of these as built-in food dollars letting you spend however and whenever you like!

Adding Cardinal Dollars to a Stanford ID reduces the need to carry cash and offers the security and convenience of a card. Stanford Dining offers special bonuses on some Cardinal Dollars purchases. Currently, if you purchase Cardinal Dollars at the Cardinal Mall, you will receive a 10% bonus.

To use Cardinal Dollars, Students present their SUID card to the cashier at the time of purchase. Students can visit the newly updated Stanford Dining website to track their balances and view recent transactions on-line.

Cardinal Dollars that are purchased in addition to a traditional dining meal plan carry over from quarter to quarter, and from year to year. They do not expire unless they have been used.

Where Can Cardinal Dollars Be Used?

Cardinal Dollars can be used in any of Stanford Dining's residential dining halls. They can be used to purchase 'all you care to eat' meals and guest meals.

They can also be used for grab & go items at the Sweet Shop, located in the Wilbur Marketplace, or our late night eateries Late Nite at Lakeside and Stern's Cyber Café.

Plus, you can use Cardinal Dollars at Stanford Dining's retail venues:
